Privacy Policy
Working version, subject to change before launch. When it changes, we will ask you to review it again.
1. Who we are
Gigs & Places is an app and website run by NRAZ Labs LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it, and the choices you have. Questions: privacy@gigsandplaces.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect what you give us and the minimum needed to run the app:
- Account details: your name and email address, from the sign-in you choose (Apple, Google, or a one-time code sent to your email). If you use Apple’s Hide My Email, we only get the relay address. We never receive your social password. If you add a phone number, we use it for sign-in codes and account security.
- Your profile and media: stage or venue name, city, bio, genres, rates, and the photos or videos you upload.
- Activity: gigs you post, applications, invitations, bookings, messages, reviews, saved searches, and reports you make.
- Verification: if you verify your account or add a venue location, the document you upload (for example, proof of address). It is stored privately and only our trust and safety staff can view it.
- Purchases: your plan and its status from the App Store or Google Play. The store keeps your payment details; we never see them.
- Device and diagnostics: device type, operating system, app version, a notification token, error logs, and the IP address your requests come from, needed for reliability and security.
3. Permissions we ask for
We ask for each permission only for the feature that needs it, and you can change it in your device settings:
- Location: to fill in your city when you set up your profile and to set your search area (see “Location” below). You can type a city instead. We don’t track your location in the background.
- Photos and camera: to set your profile photo, upload media, and save share cards you create.
- Notifications: to tell you about messages, applications, invitations and bookings.
4. Location
To help venues and performers find each other nearby, Gigs & Places uses approximate, city-level location. Your profile city is matched to that city’s general coordinates; we don’t store your home address for this. With your permission we may use your device’s location to set your current search area. Others only ever see an approximate distance, never your exact location. A venue’s street address is shown to performers so they can find the gig.
5. How we use it
To run the app: show profiles and gigs, match performers and venues, deliver messages and notifications, keep records of bookings and reviews, verify accounts, prevent fraud and abuse, answer support requests, and improve the product. We don’t use your data for third-party advertising.
6. What other people see
- Your public profile, photos, videos and reviews are visible to other users for discovery and booking.
- Messages are visible only to the people in the conversation, and to our trust and safety staff when a conversation is reported.
- If a venue owner gives team members access, they see that venue’s gigs, bookings and conversations for the locations they manage.
7. Sharing
We never sell your personal information or share it for cross-context advertising. We share it only:
- With service providers that run the app for us under contract: Microsoft Azure (hosting, storage, email and text messages), and Apple and Google (sign-in, notifications, app purchases and app integrity checks).
- When the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
- With a buyer or successor if the business is sold or merged, under this policy.
8. Payments
- Booking payments are settled directly between the performer and the venue. Gigs & Places does not process, hold, or store card or bank details for bookings.
- Subscriptions are billed by the App Store or Google Play, which hold your payment details.
9. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal data. Records other people rely on, such as past bookings, reviews and messages, stay without your name. Verification documents are kept only as long as we need them for verification and safety. Backups age out on a rolling schedule. We may keep some records longer where the law requires it.
10. Your choices and rights
- Edit or delete your profile and media at any time.
- Delete your account in Settings.
- Ask for a copy of your data or a correction by emailing privacy@gigsandplaces.com.
- Control notifications and permissions in Settings and in your device settings.
Depending on where you live (for example, California and other US states), you may have rights to know, access, correct or delete your personal information, and not to be treated differently for using them. We will answer verified requests within the time the law allows.
11. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access limited to the people who need it, private storage for documents, and audit logs for staff access. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your sign-in safe.
12. Children
Gigs & Places is for people 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has an account, email us and we will remove it.
13. Our website and waitlist
If you join the waitlist on www.gigsandplaces.com, we store your email address, whether you are a venue, performer or event planner, the page language, your ZIP code if you give it, when you signed up, and the campaign tags in the link you came from, if any. We use it only to tell you when Gigs & Places opens. The site sets no tracking cookies. Ask us at privacy@gigsandplaces.com to be removed.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app and ask you to review it before you continue.
